What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that aims to relieve suffering, heal and cure. It is safe and gentle, practical and easy to administer. It works effectively well in males, females, adults, geriatrics, children, babies, pregnant and lactating women, immune compromised individuals and animals.
It can act deeply within the body and also superficially. Homeopathy is based on a very simple natural principle - “Like cures like”. This means that any substance which has the power to harm the body, also has the power to cure, provided it is taken in extremely small and therefore safe diluted doses.
A short History of Homeopathy
The underlying idea of homeopathy has been known for at least 2500 years. Around that time, its principles were mentioned by the Greek physician, Hippocrates - the “Father of Medicine.”
However, homeopathy has only been in use as a practical method of healing for about the last 200 years.
The German physician and chemist, Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), rediscovered the principles and laws of homeopathy. He clarified and formulated them, and developed them into a practice of homeopathy. He is rightly regarded as the founder of modern homeopathy.
Hahnemann was trained as a medical doctor, but soon became disillusioned and even appalled, by the crude, unscientific, painful and downright dangerous medical practices of that time. Hahnemann set down the basic philosophy for homeopathy in his book called The Organon that was first published in 1810.
The importance of the symptom pattern in Homeopathy
The principle is of “like cures like” is best illustrated by an example. The homeopathic Belladonna is prepared from a plant in the potato family found throughout Europe, called the deadly night-shade. It has black berries, which are poisonous.
If a person were to ingest two berries, he or she would quickly develop a characteristic symptom pattern, mostly due to the alkaloid atropine in the berries. Most of the symptoms are centered around the head. They may include:
| |
* |
A painful throbbing headache, which is made worse by bright light, |
| |
* |
A high fever |
| |
* |
Delirium |
| |
* |
A bright red face |
| |
* |
Palpitations |
| |
* |
Increased heartbeat |
| |
* |
Skin feels dry and burning |
| |
* |
Widened pupils (dilated) |
| |
* |
No thirst at all despite the high temperature |
| |
|
|
Once a substance has been harnessed (tamed) homeopathically diluted, it can be used to heal the very symptoms in diseased persons, which large doses produce in a healthy person.
medical supporters claim
If you feel threatened, the best method of defense is to attack.
Homeopathy is effective when applied correctly. It is important that the energetic wave length of the dis-sease corresponds with the energetic wave length of the homeopathic remedy for the remedy to exert a successful and positive response.
Homeopathic medicine has been used to treat animal and babies successfully for over two centuries and both do not have the mental capacity to decide if the medicine (homeopathic , allopathic drugs or herbs) given to them will heal or not
